Our Story

MORE THAN A GYM

We're a community of women in Barry who show up for each other, every single day.

Founded by Sarah

Meet Sarah Wells

Sarah is the founder of Cardio Core Fitness and has worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years.

She created Cardio Core to give women more than just a place to work out: a supportive, welcoming community where women can build strength, confidence and genuinely enjoy exercise.

Passionate, energetic and always ready to cheer you on, Sarah believes fitness should help you feel stronger in every area of your life.

Our community kept us afloat through lockdowns 1, 2, and 3. We will forever be grateful to all of you.

“We don't just help you to get healthy, we help you to get HAPPY!

Fitness Instructor

Jodie joined Cardio Core as a member in 2023, after years of avoiding exercise and struggling with a toxic relationship with food. Finding a gym that felt comfortable enough to start in, and a community that felt supportive, is what sparked a real love of exercise.

Since then, Jodie has lost six stone and gone from member to one of the instructors, becoming a big part of the gym along the way. Those classes are known for being full of energy, so come along and join one.

Jodie is also on a personal journey of understanding how a hypermobile body needs to train differently, with a big focus on strength and stability.

Sam joined Cardio Core during lockdown, initially taking part in the online live workouts and she hasn't looked back since! After becoming the very first Transformation Challenge winner, she used her prize money to invest in herself and complete her Level 3 Personal Training qualification.

While working full-time as an estate agent, Sam somehow still finds the energy to teach a variety of classes, from early mornings to evenings. Her Spin classes are a particular member favourite, especially the legendary 6am sessions, where you can expect glowsticks, great music and plenty of rave-like energy!

When she's not working, training or teaching, Sam is a bit of a party animal who loves having a good time and she definitely isn't one to say no to a shot or two!
